cannot save squid cache settings

Hi,

I've used
http://skear.hubpages.com/hub/How-to-setup-a-transparent-proxy-using-pfSensewhich
is fine but I cannot get changes to the changes to cache settings to
'stick'

for example: I change the Maximum object size from 4 to 5, say, press save
and the screen shows it back to 4, using 1.2.3
